The Life of Spirit & Action
- Explores the spiritual basis for the actions of people of
faith who have committed their lives to eradicate poverty,
seek civil rights and resist war.
- Studies the ways in which the life of prayer and reflection on the Christian scriptures and those of other faiths have compelled leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Mohandas Gandhi, and Dorothy Day, along with millions of ordinary faithful folk, to devote their lives to the causes of justice and peace.
- Examines how religious faith shapes a person’s concept of and commitment to building a just and peaceful world and the ways faith is central to informing our response to current issues and crises, such as poverty in America and the war in Iraq.
