The Rauschenbusch Center for Spirit and Action honors the legacy of the Rev. Walter Rauschenbusch, the father of the social gospel movement in America. As a taskforce of the
Church Council of Greater
Seattle, our mission is to equip congregations and their leaders for social ministry in the 21st Century.
We carry out this mission by developing and then offering congregations and other organizations courses that relate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the social, economic and political issue currently
challenging our society and world. At our annual dinners we also celebrate congregations and individuals whose life and work exemplify authentic Christian discipleship.
The Rauschenbusch Center will work with congregations and other organizations who wish to offer these courses and presentations at times and in formats that best suit them. We also work with groups to help them discern how they might faithfully engage the
issues they have been studying.
